The library is the largest library for children and teenagers in Rzeszow

 

  • The library offers extensive literature and popular science book collections for children and teenagers. It contains also  literature for adults, with special focus on publications from the field of pedagogy, family upbringing and  psychology.  
  • The library collects and offers electronic publications in the form of multimedia, educational games, encyclopedias and dictionaries. It rents films and audio books.
  • The library is fully computerized, offering online book ordering and renewal as well as library account administration.
  • The branch is equipped with computer stations providing free Internet access for its users.
  • The library distinguishes itself by being actively involved in the fields of readership and cultural education, this is reflected through organizing of numerous author meetings, exhibitions, contests, games and educational activities,      
  • The library hosts a Book Discussion Club,
  • The library accommodates a Mini Gallery of Children's Art where it organizes post-competition exhibitions of art, and individual exhibitions of young author's works. The gallery also displays works by professional artists who create for children.

Terms and conditions

How to join the library?:


When joining the library you must:

  1. Show your identity card or valid school ID in case of children and under age youth. Foreigners show passport, and permanent or temporarystay card.
  2. Read the library regulations.
  3. Fill out the sign up form and pledge with signature to follow the  Regulations. Pledges of under age youth are to be signed by parents or legal guardians after an identity check.
  4. Accept a free, plastic Reader Card, in case of primary school children attending grade III or lower, acceptance of the Card has to be confirmed by a parent or legal guardian. 

Fulfilment of the above conditions is necessary to be able to use the library.

  • lliterature for children, teenagers and adults,
  • required reading books,
  • popular science literature,
  • information publications,
  • newspapers and periodicals,
  • multimedia and educational programs,
  • films,
  • audio books.

Services:

 

  • offering collections on-site and collections lending,
  • providing information,
  • electronic services: online book ordering and renewal, library account administration,
  • providing access to the Internet and MS Office package.

Cultural and educational activities of the library:

 

  • meetings with authors who write for children and teenagers,
  • organizing literary and art competitions, as well as contests encompassing various fields of knowledge,
  • educational lectures and meetings with interesting people,
  • literary, art, theatrical and library workshops,
  • lessons at the library and multimedia shows for children and teenagers,
  • talks and discussions about books,
  • occasional readership events,
  • reading aloud of children's books.
