Provincial and City Public Library in Rzeszow

When joining the library you must:

1. Show your identity card or valid school ID in case of children and under age youth. Foreigners show passport, and permanent or temporary stay card.
2. Read the library regulations.
3. Fill out the sign up form and pledge with signature to follow the  Regulations. Pledges of under age youth are to be signed by parents or legal guardians after an identity check.
4. Accept a free, plastic Reader Card, in case of primary school children attending grade III or lower, acceptance of the Card has to be confirmed by a parent or legal guardian. 

Fulfilment of the above conditions is necessary to be able to use the library.

Use of  collections from the Main Reading Room, and Periodicals Reading Room does not require joining of the library.

GENERAL LIBRARY RULES FOR BORROWING OF COLLECTIONS

• Joining the library, and use of its collections is free in all public libraries in Rzeszow.
• WiMBP branches in Rzeszow lend the following library materials: books, maps, plans, standards, audio documents, films and others. Only part of collections from reference libraries and reading rooms is available on site at the library.
• Borrowing of library materials is available to all adults, teenagers and children, the exceptions being: the Main Library /Dąbrowskiego 33a street/ where users must be over 15, and the Music Library, which requires the user to be over 16 to use its collections.
• For off-premises borrowing – 5 books /or other library materials/ at one time, for a period of 30 days.
• All readers must pay a deposit when borrowing especially valuable and rare books, the deposit amount is set each time by the director of the Library. The deposit is equivalent to the current price of the book, map or standard. The reader is given a receipt for the amount deposited. The deposit is paid back when the books are returned.
• Borrowed books may be renewed /extending their return date/, except in cases when the books are overdue,  or  there are other borrowers waiting for their return.
• Renewal of books may be done in person at the library, by phone, e-mail and online. Online renewal applies only to readers with the Library Card.
• When renewing by phone or e-mail: it is necessary to provide the reader's name, inventory numbers and titles of borrowed books.
• The libraries using the computerized lending system issue plastic Library Cards to their users. As of 1.01.2013 the following public libraries in Rzeszow use the computerized lending and borrowing system:

Joining one of the above locations, allows the reader use of services of the other mentioned libraries, without the need for a separate enrolment. In the future, when the computer system is available at all  WiMBP locations in Rzeszow this will apply to the entire network of public libraries in Rzeszow.

• Library Card is issued when joining the library. The Card holder is responsible for all items borrowed on that card. Lost Cards should be reported immediately to the Library. Until the card is reported lost or stolen by the card's owner, the Library is not responsible for its use by  third parties. Fourth consecutive replacement of damaged, lost or stolen card has to be paid for.
• Fines must are applied for overdue books, the fine amount is set by the order of the Director of WiMBP in Rzeszow – as of 1.09.2012 it is 0,20 pln. for each overdue day. Overdue fines do not apply to borrowers 15 years old and younger.
• Fines are also charged for books that are lost or damaged
• The readers are required to respect  library materials and timely returns of borrowed library items.
