The Music Library is open to adults and teenagers over 16.

 

  • The library specializes in the area of broadly defined art, and offering of music collections. 
  • It offers audio sets, music sheets, books and magazines dealing with music and areas of art. The library owns a large collection of audio books.
  • The library offers collections to individuals and institutions for on-site and off-premises lending.      
  • The library offers computer terminals with free Internet access and a reading room with a listening station.
  • The Music Library holds many literary and musical meetings, chamber concerts, photographic and art exhibitions of works by professional and amateur artists. Librarians popularize classical music among young people by organizing meetings and library lessons. They act as advisers in selection of literature and repertoire, and cooperate with institutions of culture and education of  Podkarpackie Province.

How to join the library?:


When joining the Music Library you must:

  1. Show your identity card or valid school ID in case of children and under age youth. Foreigners show passport, and permanent or temporary stay card.
  2. Read the library regulations.
  3. Fill out the sign up form and pledge with signature to follow the  Regulations. Pledges of under age youth are to be signed by parents or legal guardians after an identity check.
  4. Accept a free, plastic Reader Card, in case of primary school children attending grade III or lower, acceptance of the Card has to be confirmed by a parent or legal guardian. 

Fulfilment of the above conditions is necessary to be able to use the library.

 

Collections:

 

  • music ( classical and contemporary, opera, entertainment, folk, jazz)on vinyl records, cassette tapes, compact disks, DVDs
  • music sheets – literature required in the curricula of music schools of 1st and 2nd level, piano transcriptions, scores
  • literature audio books, radio dramas and theatre  ( cassette tapes, mp3s, DVDs )
  • books on music and fine arts ( including: biographies, monographs, historical and theoretical studies, thematic catalogues of works, discographies, albums, guides),
  • periodicals (Ruch Muzyczny, Muzyka, Jazz Forum, Gadki z Chatki, Twoja Muza, Skarby Podkarpacia )
  • graphic arts.

Services:

 

  • lending of collections (  books, vinyl records, compact disks, cassette tapes, audio books, music sheets  ),
  • available on site ( reference library, compact disks, periodicals, music sheets ),
  • information, advice on the selection of literature and repertoire.

Cultural and educational activities of the library:

  • exhibitions:  art ( painting, graphic arts, drawing), photographic, books and documents,
  • lessons at the library for teenagers,
  • briefings and training for librarians.
