Provincial and City Public Library in Rzeszow

PERIODICALS

Current newspapers and magazines can be read at most municipal branches and divisions of WiMBP in Rzeszow. Magazines are made available for in-library use at  the reading rooms, and library branches make it is possible to borrow 4 magazines for a period of 1 week.
The largest collection of periodicals and current newspapers is held by the Current Periodicals Reading Room at Sokoła 13 street.
Older and archival issues of magazines may be read at the Main Reading Room at Sokoła 13 street.
Selected archival periodicals of the region, from XIX and XX centuries have been scanned and are stored at Digital Library of Podkarpacie.

MUSICAL COLLECTIONS

Music Library located at Żeromskiego 2 street in Rzeszow holds extensive audio collections /analogue and compact discs, cassette tapes/ with jazz, classical, contemporary, folk, and entertainment music.
The lending library collects music sheets form XIX and XX centuries, books on  music and arts,  repertoire materials and music magazines.
The library offers free, off premises lending of music collections in the form of analogue records, cassette tapes and music sheets. Music recorded on CDs and magazines can be enjoyed at the library. The library is equipped with listening stations.

AUDIOBOOKS

The largest collection of literature available in audio format, on CDs and cassette tapes  can be borrowed for off premises use from the Music Library /Żeromskiego 2 street/. The Music Library owns  large collections of audio material, with over 6500 copies of audio books.
Audio book collections in MP3 format are also available for borrowing at the Main Library, the Library for Children and Teenagers, and branches No. 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 16 - these are novels and non fiction books. Borrowing of audio books is free of charge.

FILMS

Selected branches of Provincial and City Public Library in Rzeszow collect and lend collections in the form of feature films, documentaries, and dramas recorded on DVDs and V CDs.
Films are available at: the Main Library, the Music Library, the Library for Children and Teenagers and branches No 1, 3, 4, 6, 7,  8, 9, 10 and 16.

COMMUNITY LIFE RECORDS

The Community Life Records Department at Langiewicza 17 street makes available leaflets, brochures, occasional publications, local newspapers and other  publications  documenting the social, economic, cultural and political life of Rzeszow and  Podkarpackie province.
The documents gathered at the branch include: official forms, posters, invitations, event programmes, photographs, postcards, calendars, correspondence, announcements, one-off issues and many others.

Collections of community life records amount to over 6.900 units. Part of the DŻS collection is displayed in scanned form at the Digital Library of Podkarpacie.

ELECTRONIC PUBLICATIONS ON CDs

Library is in the process of creating a collection of publications on CDs.

The collection includes:

• historical sources, encyclopedias, dictionaries, multimedia programs, European Union guides, legal information system Lex-Sigma – available at Computer Information Section / Sokoła 13 street /,
   

• selected magazine additions, in form of CDs – available at Periodicals Reading Room /Sokoła 13  street /,

• education and information programs for children and teenagers, games, dictionaries and  encyclopedias – available at Children and Teenagers Branch / Słowackiego 11 street /.

Electronic publications on CDs are available for in-library use only, at computer stations inside the above listed facilities.
